OPERATION LIFESAVER MASSACHUSETTS WANTS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY TO BE SAFE AROUND HIGHWAY-RAIL GRADE CROSSINGS AND TRAINS!

Welcome to Massachusetts Operation Lifesaver (MassOL). We are a volunteer organization committed to the continued reduction of injuries and fatalities associated with highway-rail grade crossings and incidents associated with trespassing along railroad rights-of-way. Our efforts in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts include the three E's - Education, Engineering, and Enforcement.

MassOL has a variety of programs and efforts designed to educate the public about their safety when passing over railroads at designated crossings and the extreme dangers associated with trespassing on railroad property. In addition to the general public, we have education and outreach efforts designed to enhance the enforcement and engineering elements of railroad safety. Our immediate goal is a continued reduction of injuries and fatalities associated with highway-rail grade crossings and trespassers on railroad property in Massachusetts.

We need your help. MassOL is a grass-roots organization that relies on the volunteer efforts of people committed to our Mission Statement. None of the people associated with our organization are paid specifically for their OL efforts. Most of our volunteers perform OL duties as a part of their regular activities while others help outside their regular work hours. Our volunteer committee includes representatives from federal, state, and local government, railroads, transit, and transportation related organizations.

All programs are provided by people from various organizations that volunteer their time to support MassOL. Join us in our quest to be the most active and successful OL safety team in the nation.
